Work for NCS Challenge

The Challenge is the UK's largest provider of NCS (National Citizen Service) - a government-backed initiative which aims to prepare 15-17 year olds for adulthood through four weeks of adventure, skill building and youth social action.

The success of the NCS programme relies on the support of our excellent seasonal staff. This year we have over 5,000 paid roles, all working with young people in different capacities. No matter your background, we're bound to have the right role for you!
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to lead a group of young people and help them develop their confidence and gain new skills.

Example jobs for 2017 include:

  • Leadership roles - up to £1,500 per 14-day role. Lead between 60 and 84 young people and up to 13 staff members on the programme.

  • Mentor roles - up to £1,500 per 18-day role. Facilitate, lead and provide pastoral care for a team of 12 young people.

  • Skills practitioner roles - up to £240 per 3-day role (potential to work up to 12 roles).  Facilitate and deliver skills-building workshops in art, drama, enterprise, media, music, photography or sport.

These are short-term roles and are suitable for local volunteers and staff who can commit for the time stated above during the summer. To have a look at the job description and to apply please go to:
